the Woodstock Bookshop Festival - Celebrating Stories, Creativity and Community!

The May Bank Holiday weekend brought another wonderful Woodstock Bookshop Festival, celebrating its second year in its vibrant current format. Organised by The Woodstock Bookshop team and an incredible group of local volunteers, the festival once again filled Woodstock with stories, music, poetry, science, arts, and family-friendly fun across venues including the Town Hall, Oxfordshire Museum, Hampers Delicatessen, St Mary Magdalene Church, and St Hugh’s Centre.

We were delighted to be part of this year’s fantastic lineup, proudly sharing the Alice the Palace Postwoman series with festival-goers. It was such a joy to meet families, celebrate storytelling, and introduce young readers to Alice’s adventures in such a welcoming community setting.

The children’s events were packed with fun, from wonderful author sessions with Anna Kemp, Gerard Lewis and Lizzie Shannon-Little to plenty of hands-on creativity and storytelling. Young visitors enjoyed puppet making, an animal quest, stamp designing, creative body art transfers, designing their own books, and bookmark making - leaving with smiles, stories, and plenty of imagination sparked along the way.

The festival once again proved to be a joyful celebration of books, creativity, and community spirit, bringing together visitors from near and far. A huge thank you to The Woodstock Bookshop team, local volunteers, venues, and everyone who helped make the weekend such a success.

We loved being part of it and are already looking forward to next time!
