Alice the Palace Postwoman at the Woodstock Literary Festival!
It was a privilege to share ‘Alice the Palace Postwoman’ with the Woodstock community at the Literary Festival on Saturday 3 May 2025. Held at St Hugh’s Centre on Hensington Road, the festival offered a fantastical mix of fun adventures for children aged 3 and up. The children’s event ran from 10 am to 12 noon and offered a morning packed with stories, music, and imagination.
Young readers joined Alice on her postal adventures, spotting Ruby Robin as she helped deliver letters across the palace. The session included a reading and children were also invited to let their creativity fly and design their own colouring flag to celebrate the day.
Sweet Zombie Horse and Other Adventures
In addition to the Alice the Palace Postwoman line up! Glastonbury veteran Dr Phil Freizinger and friends hosted a sing-along for a truly interactive experience. Attendees could meet kangaroos, pirates, Bhangra dancers, and a very special visitor from another universe: the Sweet Zombie Horse! Big hats off to Captain Jules, who really embraced the sing-and-dance along!
These activities were designed to spark imagination and delight. The creative energy of the morning, from dancing to drawing to storytelling, made the event a true celebration of playful learning and community spirit.
A huge thank you to the wonderful Woodstock Bookshop team for hosting the session and supporting local storytelling. Sharing Alice’s story in such a welcoming and lively setting was a delightful reminder of the magic of storytelling — a morning of laughter, adventure, and imagination that truly brought the community together.
