New Stockist - Blenheim Palace!
A Proud Moment for Alice the Palace Postwoman
I am delighted to announce that the Alice the Palace Postwoman series is now available in the Gift Shop at Blenheim Palace. An incredibly special moment in this journey for so many reasons!
These rhyming picture books were born from the inspiration found within the palace grounds. From its sweeping parkland and tranquil gardens to the striking Baroque architecture that makes Blenheim so unforgettable. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, the palace is a place where history and imagination sit side by side.
On a very warm August morning whilst walking the palace grounds, I had just passed over Bladon Bridge and had been heading along the path to the shaded woodland area. I first met Alice in my thoughts and envisaged her on a scooter heading off with a happy haste down the path. The first line of rhyme was formed and these initial moments brought me the opening sentence that was born into the patterned rhyming picture books that followed. Helen Wallace was able to connect the clear visuals in my mind and joined the creative journey the year after with beautiful illustrations.
To now see the books available to the wonderful visitors who explore the same paths and courtyards that inspired them is a lifelong aspiration realised. I am especially grateful to Charlotte Beardmore for her welcomed enthusiasm for the stories and support in making them available to all.
If you are visiting Blenheim Palace, do pop into the Gift Shop and discover Alice’s cheery world for yourself. A small piece of palace magic to treasure long after your day within the grounds.
